Yes yes yes....
Did I, or did I not say, that Rex being back in the game would result in a much more exciting game?
whooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
that was a good game. and FINALLY exciting....good and bad.
heres the deal though...I dont care what you think about the first half, Rex had a great game. me oh my...the weather during the first half was miserable and everyone was dropping everything. The field was wet, the ball was slippery....turnovers are going to happen.
What is importatant, is how the game was closed. And if you ask me, Rex closed out his game quite exquisitely.
Poor Benson....i think its safe to say that young cedric was a bust for his first starting season. And I'm going to "Gump" (Forrest) it and say that thats all I have to say about that. I know...surprising.
But beyond Benson....and we must now move beyond him...we have Peterson and Wolfe...both of which, if combined in your gameplan, I think can bring electricity to the running game...something we were not getting from benson anyway. I'm afraid not too much was lost here...
I liked Wolfe's run down the middle...he brings a couple of elements that dont really exist in the NFL in exactly the same package. Speed, small size, strength...I'm not sure Defenses are quite sure what to expect from him and I think we can use that to our advantage.
Peterson....what can I say.......I have no problem with this guy starting as our RB....its all about ambition and work ethic with him...he has an obvious nose for yards....moving forward. What do you know?....thats his job....I think it will be good for us to get him some more carries.
Defense is ugly....not impressed with Archuletta. We had no pressure on the quarterback once again...or not enough anyway. What happened to the Bear D that would disrupt?...we had little to no disruption...we were once again a reaction defense...something needs to happen here...
Some meddling with strategy, formations, trickery needs to occur. What we have established as the "bear" style of Defense is not working anymore....We need to be able to make in-game adjustments, otherwise we will consistently be picked apart.
It's no secret what Bears defense is going to try to do. Lets pull the veil back over our strategy again and start surprising people. We have so much speed...why do we only use it in coverage?
Its not all bad...I saw some life in the defense...a couple red zone stands that hardly made up for giving up the big play that got them into the red zone in the first place....ahh well...thats bears these days i guess. those long yardage plays need to be halted, and quickly....we dont have an offense that can keep up with teams that we are allowing to do that....
THAT IS UNLESS YOU HAVE....................HESTER......
Todd Sauerbrun said this of Devin Hester before the game,
"We're going after it. We're not going to kick away from him. Hey, we respect him and he's the best, but we have guys on our coverage teams that are paid to make big tackles."
GGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAHAAA!!!
hilarious...
The guy is amazing... I must have watched highlights for hours yesterday just waiting to see those plays again.. I am certain that I traumatized my cat with my screaming when they actually happened. what a blast....
I dont think there is a more exciting player in the nfl. ....if only we can make more use of him in the offense....its difficult for me to understand how we have been so unsuccessful in doing so thus far.
Also, I like that I am seeing more of Olsen at least...we need everyone we can get....as involved as possible..
The dream stays alive people.....
Thoughts?
